Lexie,
There remind me of the sweet potato fries that my kids love made by Alexia. I've been thinking of making them myself, so this is perfect. Just wondering what the difference is if you soak or don't soak the yams ahead of time.
Hi Jeanette, the soaking step is totally optional. I do it to infuse a little flavor (salty) into the fries and think that the salt pulls some of the moisture out for a slightly less-soggy fry. TOTALLY optional though. Do note that these fries do not get super crispy. Some of the small pieces do, but for the moist part, these come out on the softer side. 🙂
These fries would make this Mama Bear happy for sure! 😉
Thanks, Lexie! 🙂

I wrote a comment here yesterday, but don't know where it went. Anyway, we make yam fries often! I love using Hannah yellows for them! I love the idea of soaking the fires in salted water. I am totally going to do that from now on!!
